50 Days of Urgent Relief in Pakistan.
90,800 people Received Blankets, Medicine and
Tents.
''Medical Units Project'' in Favor of 180,000
people.
Q.C. has actively responded to brotherly and
humanitarian call to relieve the victims of
Pakistan earthquake, which took place on 8 /10/
12005, killing a big number of people, making
millions homeless, and causing destruction in
infrastructure.
Q.C. was the first Qatari voluntary
organization to get to the stricken areas, since
its representative reached there within three
days.
Thus, via its office in Islamabad, Q.C. has
taken the necessary steps and procedures to
organize and send a working group to urgently
and directly relieve the victims in coordination
with governmental and NG circles in order to
ease field operation.
Direct Finance and Distribution of Instant
Relief
Relief Supplies included tents, blankets,
food, medicines, and winter clothes for children
and gas ovens.
Some 76180 persons benefited from this relief.

To accomplish this task Q.C.got help from
Department of Social Affairs, Qatari Red
Crescent society, Qatar Embassy in Pakistan
(tents) ,U.A.E. Embassy in Pakistan (tents),
Life for Relief and Development Org. and some
local circles in Pakistan.
Relief through Co-Partnerships
''Emergency Medical Units and Groups'' Project
This project has been carried out in
co-operation with UNICEF and Pakistani
Department of Health. And Q.C. provides the
project with tents and required financial
expenses for the administration.
It aims to participate in urgent medical
services in the most affected areas in Kashmir,
especially in Muzaffarabad, which was severely
destructed, by establishing field medical units
and sending 18 medical groups to the stricken
areas for a period of six months, in addition to
'' Special Women Group'' whose duty is to
provide women with medical culture.
Each field medical group consists of one medical
doctor, two nurses, two medical technicians and
one midwife.
It is estimated that some 180,000 persons will
benefit from this project.

''Urgent Participation in Sheltering the
Victims '' Project
Qatar Charity took the initiative to specify
urgent needs concerning providing the victims
with temporary shelter, distributing relief
supplies offered by the International Federation
of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Ghari
Habibullah, Bahu Gharman, Tandu and Pava areas
in Mansahra Province as well as Batl and
adjacent villages in Bitigram Province.
Beneficiaries of the first urgent stage of
this project amounted to 2000 families during
one week; they received 1818 tents with special
plastic mattresses and 12726 blankets.
The relief supplies of this project were
offered by several countries.
Qatar sent its aid via Qatar Authority for
Charitable Activities in co-ordination with The
International Federation of the Red Cross and
The Red Crescent.
Some other humanitarian organizations offered
aid to support the project as well.
Under construction Projects
Permanent camp for Emigrants
Among projects in preparation, Qatar charity
is doing its best to construct a permanent camp
for emigrants in the North-West Province. It is
planned to accommodate a thousand tents for the
victims, to include a clinic, school, drinkable
water and food.
Qatar Charity and Life for Relief and
Development Org. have assumed to collect what
the camp needs.
International organizations for relief
located in Pakistan will co-operate with Q.C.
and Life for Relief Org.
Budget of the project amounts Q.C. 2,868,717.
Recommended partners are: Life Relief and
Development Org., UNICEF, WFP, The Federal
Relief Commission and Afghan Relief Commission.
