Launches
Relief Operations in Lebanon
Qatar Charity, in coordination with Zakah House- Lebanon,
has launched an urgent relief campaign for the benefit of the displaced people in Lebanon.
The relief materials included mattresses, blankets, food items and basic needs for children such as diapers and milk.
According to the Zakah House report, tens of thousands of displaced families– living temporarily at schools - are expected to benefit from this campaign.
Mr. Mahmood Libdah, Exterior Affairs Director of Zakah House –Lebanon and the drive coordinator, said: “The activities are mainly focused on the cities of Beirut, Sidon, Tyre, Biqaa, Jubail and al-Kura. Some 50, 000 families have instantly benefited from the relief operations.”
“Each family will receive a “Provisions Basket” that includes: (1) packets of cheese, Halawa, tea, sugar, broad beans, beans, rice, salt, tomato paste and other food items, (2) cleaning materials such as soap, detergents, two small towels and a one big towel, and (3) underwear clothes, tissue papers, diapers, sanitary napkins, a mattress, a pillow, a bed sheet and a good quantity of candles.” he added.
