Foundation.
Believing in woman's efforts in the field of charitable work and her high rank in Islam, Qatar Charity inaugurated the women's Branch in 1994.
Goals and Aims.
1-To widen woman's participation in charitable work.
2- To activate her role concerning women issues.
3- To support and take care of the needy inside Qatar.
4-To urge the woman in order to participate in the charitable work in/outside the State of Qatar.
Activities and Achievements.
1-Love Meeting
It is an educational, cultural, religious and social meeting. It is held in the main hall of the Charity every Tuesday evening. It is for woman in general.
2-Young Girls Forum
It was established in 2003 under the title of '' We Meet, We Advance'' .This program aims to upgrade consciousness among girls between 12-20 years in order to develop their talents and polish their skills through courses in human development and Islamic knowledge; in addition to this, courses on professional skills, forums and festivals will be organized and held.
3-Courses
Different courses are held on different subjects and fields such as education, culture, Fiqh and society around the year.
4-Warm Touches
This program includes scientific entertainment and training activities for female orphans who are sponsored by the Charity to help them feel love, affection and sympathy.
5-The Holy Qur'an Memorization Centers.
Women's Branch takes care of four centers for the Holy Qur'an memorization. They are: al-Rayyan, al-Wakra, al-Khor and Abu Hamour.
As for al-Rayyan centre, it participates in the program of illiteracy elimination among the adults Participants amounted to 479 persons in 2004.
6-Training of volunteers
Woman's Branch trains School girls who wish to take part in charitable work. So, they get '' Training hours'' to be considered as part in study requirements.
At first, this program was held in the complex of al-Bayaan Schools for Girls in 2004, and participants numbered 67 persons.
7-Educational lectures and activities
Such activities are normally held at schools for the purpose of educating the youth in accordance with good values and culture.
8-Teaching Arabic
At the beginning of school year 2004-2005, this leading program was held for the first time in co-operation with Dr. 'Abdullah al-Dannan, whose opinion is '' to learn Arabic at the beginning of childhood stage.''
Based on results achieved through practising this program in K.G. and the 1st 3 classes of the primary stage in four schools, we can say that it is actually a "promising program."
9- Marketing and developing.
In fact, Women's Branch plays an active role in developing the resources of Qatar Charity via marketing its projects among women.
For example, total revenues received from different projects amounted to Q.R.5.473.972 in 2004.
