Dar al-Birr Introduction.

In Rabi' al-Awal 1425 – May 2004, Q.C. launched a humanitarian project called '' Dar al-Birr'' (House of Righteousness) in order to activate its activities inside Qatar.

It aims to give priority to those who are in need of help and support within the state. This policy demonstrates that Q.C. abides by what is stated in a sound Hadith: '' The best amongst you are the best to their households.''

Aims and Goals

  1. To revive community spirit.
  2. To reduce poverty.
  3. To satisfy the needs of the destitute.

The Targeted Persons

  • Families with no income.
  • Families with limited-income.
  • Debtors.
  • Divorcees and widows.
  • The sick.
  • Persons who are in need of rehabilitation.

Here are the most important activities of Dar al-Birr:

1- Distribution of monthly financial and corporate aid to the needy.

2- Summer support.

This program aims at helping the poor families to relieve the hardship of summer. So, 108 Air conditions were distributed to those families.

3-Zakah and Udhiyah meat Distribution.

4- Carrying surplus forward.

This aims to carry surplus money of happy occasions, banquets of marriage…, for needy families.

5- Urgent aid to victims of conflagrations (at houses) and so on.

6- School Bag

This is a seasonal activity run by Dar al-Birr with the intention of supporting poor students providing them with school requirements and uniforms.

7- al Sunbulah (ear of wheat)Fair

This non-profit fair started in 2005. It aims at helping the poor in order to buy their needs by the means of free coupons granted by Qatar Charity.

Achievements of Dar al- Birr in 2004.

1-Distribution of Q.R. 2.500.000 to the needy families.

2-Distribution of Q.R. 900.000 as aid in kind. Some 3300 poor families benefited from this program.

3-Distribution of 108 air-conditioners.

4-Distribution of 750 school bags and 1150 school uniforms.

5- Distribution of Zakah money to some 680 poor families.

The Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:" Protect yourselves against the Hell-fire, even by giving away half piece of a date (in charity)."

In a sound Prophetic Hadith:" A person, who eats to his full while his neighbor is hungry, can not be a perfect believer if he knows that."
