
Udhiyah(Sacrifice) Waqf.
(The Good Tree)
(Its root is set firm,
its branches reaching into heaven.)
Allah’s Messenger (Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “One who makes a sacrifice (lamb, cow or camel) will be rewarded with a good deed for each single hair of it."

In 1990, Qatar Charity started the Udhiyah Project in order to satisfy the need of Muslim destitute worldwide, since so many of them do not eat meat except on some rare occasions.
The Charity spent around Q.R.33 Million on this project in the State of Qatar and in 35 other countries.
Qatar Charity launched this new project "Udhiyah Waqf" as a new step on the road to guarantee the revival of our Islamic Heritage as well as to insure the flow of support to charitable projects.
Aims of the Project.
1-To revive the Sunnah (Islamic tradition/practice)of Waqf which constitutes an important gate to ongoing Charity.
2-To consolidate social solidarity conception which is based on: feeding the needy and sharing others' feelings.
3- To make others happy through sharing with them the pleasures of 'Eid.
Types of Contribution.
1-al-Fidaa (common sacrifice) Waqf: Q.R.3000.Its annual revenues, In Shaa Allah, might equal the sacrifice of one sheep.
2-al-Ithaar (altruism)Waqf: Q.R. 6000.Its annual revenues might equal the sacrifice of two sheep.
3- al-Ihsaan (well-performance) Waqf: Q.R.9000.Its annual revenues might equal the sacrifice of three sheep.
4- Standing Monthly deduction for any one of the above-mentioned types.
5-Some contributions to any of the above-named types.
Fatwa:
According to Sheikh Dr. Khalid al-Mazkoor/Kuwait, ' the Udhiyah Waqf suffices to make a sacrifice on behalf of the benefactor every year.'

Revenues of this Project
The revenues of this project amounted to Q.R. 2.100.00 last year. This amount, in turn, brought in Q.R.200.000 in 1426, which equals the value of 665 sheep /sacrifices.
