Qatar Charity: Signs an Agreement of Cooperation with IOM And Carries out Two Urgent Relief Campaigns in Lebanon

On 21st July, 2006, Qatar Charity signed an agreement of cooperation with the International Organization for Migration in Jeneva.The agreement includes the following points:

1- To activate economic and developmental programs where there are too many migrants.
2-To offer humanitarian support to migrants, especially to children.
3- To organize protection programs to migrants.
4- To organize "formation and training abilities" programs to migrants.
5- To provide victims of conflicts and emergencies with expertise and humanitarian aid.
5- To carry out more researches and studies in the fields of common concern.

The agreement was signed by Mr. 'Abdullah Hussein al-Ni'mah, Qatar Charity Executive Manager, and by IOM General Manager, Mr. Protson Makinly. IOM praised the activities of Qatar Charity in the fields of development and relief in 40 countries worldwide. The agreement pointed out to Q.C. urgent relief during the "open war" in Lebanon. In this connection, it is worth to mention that Qatar Charity carried out an urgent relief campaign for the benefit of the displaced people in Lebanon in coordination with Zakah House- Lebanon.

The relief materials included mattresses, blankets, food items and basic needs for children such as diapers and milk. Tens of thousands of displaced families– living temporarily at schools and flats - benefited from that campaign, along with "Provisions Basket" which included foodstuff and other materials.
