Qatar Charity Provides an Orphanage in Kenya
With Furniture and Foodstuffs

Engineer ‘Abdullah Husain al-Ni’mah, the Executive Manager of Q.C., appealed to save more than 200 orphans living in a village in Mandira / Eastern Kenya. Some Charity sponsored them for a period of time, but support was stopped due some uncontrollable reasons, and this endangered their lives.

Heading the Charity’s delegation in the last visitation to the area, Mr al-Ni’mah asked the supervisor of Kenya Relief Campaign, organized by Qatar Authority for Charitable Activities, to provide the above-mentioned orphanage with necessary furniture and blankets, since it lacks the least conditions of human normal life.

On his part, Mr. ‘Abdul Rahman ‘Abdi, vice-president of al-Nahda Charity, which runs the orphanage, calls upon generous benefactors to take care of the orphans who are still in their second decade of age.

Qatar Charity Delegation paid a visit to this orphanage and provided orphans with foodstuffs, since they lost all sources of support.

Mr. ‘Abdi added: “Most children of the orphanage learn the Holy Qur’an by heart since we have some program for this goal. But, there is a dire need for 200 copies of the Qur’an so that each the child may use his own copy.

Other needs include: beds, furniture, cupboards and an electric generator, whose cost does not exceed US$1500.”

On the same occasion, Sheikha al-Miftah, the Director of Women’s Branch, distributed big quantities of sweets to the children, and this had a pleasing impact on them.

Sheikh Jassim al-Jaber, an orator at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, who accompanied the delegation, delivered a speech about patience and commitment to the teachings of Islam; urging the audience to be satisfied with Allah’s fate and telling them that their Muslims Brothers will not forget them, since the Muslim Ummah is an Ummah of ongoing Good.
