Qatar Charity Signs Health Agreement With
UNICEF and Pakistani Department of Health
Rawalpindi City.
On the 23rd of December 2005, Qatar Charity
signed a deed of Understanding with UNICEF and
Pakistani Department of Health.
This agreement aims at :( 1) supporting the
efforts of the Department of Health in Kashmir
in favor of the victims of the earthquake,
especially 2.000.200 women and children; and (2)
forming 18 medical teams. Each team consists of
one medical doctor, two medical technicians, one
nurse, and one midwife.
This agreement will offer medical services to
five areas in Kashmir in the area of
Muzaffarabad and its suburbs, where 90% of the
area was ruined.
Some 180.000 people will benefit from this
project.
The total cost of this project amounts to
Q.R.1.000.000. Qatar Charity's contribution,
which equals Q.R.397.887., will cover all
administrative expenses of the medical teams for
six months (tents, transportation and so on.).
UNICEF will provide the project with medical
equipment and medicine for ten thousand people,
while the Pakistani Department of Health will
provide the project with highly-qualified
medical doctors and nurses..
