Qatar Charity Hikes Orphan Sponsorship Amount
Qatar Charity has decided to raise the monthly amount of sponsorship in order to develop services which it provides for the orphans.
Addressing a press conference held on 16 /11/2006, Mr. al-Jassim stated that the Charity has taken this step in harmony with its future strategic plan of 2007-2010, which represents a quality move in regard to the services of the Charity.
This move will adopt the concept of “Comprehensive Care” that offers a package of health, education, social and psychological services.
Furthermore, the hike comes to cope with the world wave of high cost of living. Thus, the issue of sponsoring orphans comes at the first place in the priorities of Qatar Charity.
According to al-Jassim, the Charity is keen on opening gates of goodness to benefactors who can not afford this hike, i.e. the Charity (if they accept) will transfer their contributions to support orphans in general.
“The amount of orphan sponsorship will be Q.R.200 for orphans in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Kosofa, Albania, Bosnia and Indonesia while it will be Q.R.150 for orphans in other countries outside Qatar.” al-Jassim said.
In the same vein, al-Jassim stated: “Qatar Charity sponsors 20.000 orphans in 26 countries, 280 of which are in Qatar. We do thank all benefactions for their continuous support for charitable projects, especially specifying Wqaf for orphans as well as their positive position of this last necessary hike.”
