Qatar Charity Carries out
A Medical Aid Campaign for Lebanon.

A number of Qatari pharmacies have actively responded to Qatar Charity's "Relief Call" in order to save the children and patients of Lebanon. The Charity has undertaken this relief call in order to support the humanitarian campaign which was carried by "IAHV" International Association for Humanitarian Values. This Association has launched a medical aid bridge in favor of Lebanon in association with USP for Cargo Services which assumes the task of distribution there. Ameera, al-Corniche, al-Maseelah and al-Bari pharmacies, in addition to Julfar and Aboot Companies offered medicines.

Mr. 'Izzeddeen Yusuf Daifullah, Director of Catastrophes Department at Qatar Charity, received medicines which included a large quantity of different medicines which are used for the treatment of some incurable diseases, in addition to 150 cartons (7200 packets ) of dried milk for babies. Mr. Khalid 'Umar al-Hadrami, Supervisor of Public Relations at the Charity, supervised the campaign.

To support this humanitarian campaign, the Syrian Arab Airlines will transport aids to Damascus International Airport free of charge while USP Co. shall carry them to Lebanon, and then distribute them to hospitals, since there is an extreme shortage in such medicines, especially those which are badly needed for diabetes, blood pressure and heart diseases.

It is noteworthy to state that Qatar Charity, in association with the Zakah House of Lebanon, has launched its relief campaign to provide the Lebanese people with foodstuffs and other kinds of aid. At the same time, a relief delegation from Qatar Charity chaired by the Executive Manager, Mr. 'Abdullah al-Ni'mah, paid a visit to Lebanon after the last war in order to supervise the distribution of the Charity's aid in four villages in the Southern Region of Lebanon.

In the same vein, Qatar Charity has decided to carry out development projects in the Southern villages at a cost of Q.R. 14 million in the framework of participation in re-building the Southern Region of Lebanon. These projects will be carried out in the following five fields: 1-Water: to construct artesian wells stations and to equip them with required machines and fuel. 2- Shelter: to build temporary well-equipped shelters for those who returned home, along with food especially in Ramadan, in addition to offering hot meals. 3- Education: to re-construct and rehabilitate ten schools, along with school-bag project. 4-Psychological support in cooperation with Islamonline.net and Mercy Organization of Malaysia. 5-Financial support: establishing productive development projects for the afflicted families.

On This Blessed Occasion "the Start of Ramadan", Qatar Charity calls upon kind benefactors to generously support the humanitarian projects in order to relieve the sufferings of the brotherly Lebanese people.
