Q.R.250.000 For
Relief Projects in Bait Hanoon

Qatar Charity has continued its relief efforts in Plaestine.Last December, it carried out several projects in Bait Hanoon in order to assist its inhabitants in the aftermath of the Israeli invasion. Assistance included :(1) sheltering the afflicted,(2) providing cupboards, (3) kitchen utensils,(4) mattresses,(5)blankets, (6)mats, and (7) cushions for the neediest families.

Some 325 families benefited from those projects, whose cost amounted to Q.R.235.000 ($ 64410).

Sheltering Families

In a kind response to Bait Hanoon Municipality's request, The Charity rented houses for 25 families from those who lost their housing due to the invasion at a cost of $ 600 each; for a period of six months whereas their old houses are under maintenance. The total cost amounted to $15.000 (Q.R.54.500).

The project was supervised by the Mayor and the legal advisor of the Municipality. Nine families received their right (aid) in November, the other 16 families in December 2006.

Distributing Cupboards

One hundred wooden cupboards were distributed to the neediest afflicted families in Bait Hanoon via the Charity's Office of Gaza in association with the Consultants Centre for Administration and Engineering. The cost totaled $23800.

The project was directly supervised by the Mayor, some Officials of the Municipality and the Director of the Charity's Office.

Kitchen Utensils for the Neediest

In accordance with recommendation of Bait Hanoon's Municipality, the Charity provided the neediest 100 families with their need of Kitchen Utensils at a total cost of $4990.
The project was supervised by the Mayor and some Officials.

Distribution of Mattresses, Blankets, Linen and Cushions.

Last December, in the framework of its relief assistance, The Charity also provided the neediest 100 families with blankets, mattresses, linen and cushions at a total cost of $20620.
