Qatar Charity Holds Iftar Banquets in al-Aqsa Mosque

Qatar Charity has been holding Iftar banquets in al-Aqsa Mosque since the first day of Ramadan. 250 meals are offered every day. This, for sure, demonstrates a high form of brotherly solidarity with the Palestinian people who face difficult circumstances due to economic siege and salaries suspension. Some 68493 persons have benefited from the project at a cost of Q.R. 1000.000.

In the same vein, Qatar Charity has carried out Iftar meals project in the Western Bank, al-Khaleel Mosque and other places, in addition to distributing food coupons for poor families. Each coupon’s cost is $ 25(Qatari Riyals 90).The Charity also has held so many mass Iftar banquets in Gaza strip mosques and distributed food coupons to poor families, each coupon’s cost is $50 for every person.

“Coupon system” gives beneficiaries the chance to buy their own essential needs such as rice, sugar, olive oil, cheese, tomatoes, soup, dates, milk dairy, canned food, tea and meat.

Iftar project in the Palestinian territories is part and parcel of the Charity’s seasonal project which is carried inside and outside the State of Qatar for the benefit of 500.000 Muslim persons.
