Qatar Charity Specifies: Sixteen Locations for Ramadan Iftar (Fast-breaking) Meals

Qatar Charity has started its seasonal project “Iftar Meals”, which will last till the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. It has specified sixteen locations for this purpose in Mosques and public yards, whereas people are crowded. It is expected that 5000 persons will benefit from this project per day.


According to Mr.Jassim al-Jassim, the Director of Qatar Charity’s Office in Qatar, the Charity is earnestly keen on carrying out this good sunnah as stated in the Prophetic Hadith : “Whoever provides food for breaking of the fast of a fasting person receives the reward of the fasting person, without the reward of the fasting person being reduced in any way."


During the meeting ,His Excellency the President thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani ,the Emir of the State of Qatar, for his gentle gesture concerning Qatar’s taking care of “ The Donors International Conference for Niger” ,which was organized by the General Secretary of ICO and Foreign Ministry of Qatar, and Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation . “This is one of H.H.’s generous initiatives that demonstrate his continuous support to humanitarian issues.” he said.

“As a first step, Qatar Charity has specified 16 locations for this project, and the increase of this number is dependent on the contribution of benefactors in this Holy Month. It is expected that 4800 persons will take the Iftar meal at these locations per day.” He stated.

Mr. al-Jassim mentioned that: “The Charity offers the Iftar Meals in the following locations:

  • Fatima al’Aamoodi Mosque is prepared to offer Iftar to 500 fasting persons.
  • ‘Ali al-Khulaifi, Opposite Doha Club,350 fasting persons.
  • Juairiya Bit al-Hareth Mosque, Fareej ‘Abdu Aziz,350 persons.
  • Said Ibn Jubair Mosque,300 persons.
  • ‘Ali Ib ‘Ali Mosque,al-Hilaal,300 persons.
  • Khalid Ibn al-Walid Mosque,al-Rayyan,500 persons.
  • Sarah Mosque ,al-Muntazah.
  • Hasan Ibn Ghanim al-Ghanim Mosque.
  • Mosque No.193,al-Dafnah,200 persons.
  • al-Haidoos Mosque,100 persons.
  • The Charity’s Stores in the Industrial Area,400 persons.
  • Street No.51- Industerial Area,200 persons.
  • Hamzah Ibn ‘Abdul Muttalib Mosque in al-Wakrah,400 fasting people.
  • Industerial Area in al-Khoor, 400 persons.
  • Zaid al-Khair,,Abu Fontaas, 200 persons.
  • Industrial Sec. School Mosque, New Doha, 200 fasting people.

“The Charity has allocated 25 % of the fast-breaking Waqfiya revenues to support the Fast-breaking Project.” al-Jassim added.

Al-Jassim said: “The Charity is ready to satisfy wishes of the benefactors concerning preparing new locations for Iftar Meals in air-conditioned tents and our teams are at their service. The Charity hosted around 124890 fasting people last year in 14 locations. We, for sure, expected this year’s increase in number of people and locations.”
