Launch of “Committed to My Values” Campaign Under Auspices of Qatar Awqaf Authority and in Cooperation with Rikaaz

Under the auspices of Qatar Awqaf Authority, Qatar Charity’s headquarters hosted the press conference on launching the “Committed to My Values” campaign in association with five charitable and youth bodies, including Qatar Charity, ‘Eid Ibn Muhammad Charity, Doha Youth Centre, Qimam Club and Ladies’ Makers of Life Centre.

Activities and events of the campaign will be held in the City Centre, Plaza Complex, al-Rumailah Park, al-Khoor Center for Developing Society as well as a number of educational institutions, universities and schools. It lasts till 08/05/2008.

Mr. Muhammad Ibn ‘Ali al-Hidfah, the Deputy General Director of the Charity, stated that: “The campaign is considered as a form of the GCC mutual effort. It is held in coordination with Rikaaz Foundation for Strengthening Morals in Kuwait .It is performed ‘By and For’ the youth.”

“This campaign: ‘Committed to My Values’ is related to a very Big Question ‘Identity of the Individual and Society’, which constitutes the cornerstone of security, peace and belongingness to the Ummah. Events and activities will present some solutions that may help our youth in order to face difficulties that hinder their commitment to Islamic values.” He added.

Mr. Khalifa Bu Qrarah, the Representative of Qatar Awqaf Authority- the Official Sponsor of the campaign which donated Q.R. 400.000, said: “It is our pleasure to be an active party in this campaign since the Awqaf’s main goal - as stated in the law of establishment No.41 of 2006 - is to support all sectors of the society such as: family, childhood, development, education, health and values of our society.”

On his part, Mr. Naseem ‘Abdul ‘Aziz Rubaikah, the Supervisor of Cultural Center of ‘Eid Charity, said : “ We’ll do our best to invite a number of distinguished scholars and to arrange each and every need for them so as to effectively contribute to the campaign. This campaign demonstrates the best form of cooperation between its organizers and performers in order to achieve their noble mutual goals via purposeful programs and activities that take care of all sections of the society.”

Mr. Majed al-Ansari ,Qimam Club Representative, pointed out that : “The campaign includes three main parts:(1) information campaign via mass media,(2)Da’wa and educational programs to be held at universities and schools ,and (3)a number of famous scholars will hold mass gatherings.”
