Waqf (religious endowment)
is a form of permanent charity.
It literally means: standing,
stopping and halting. It
technically signifies the
appropriation or dedication of
property to charitable uses and
the service of Allah.
Waqf is a sum of money or
property which is kept as a
trust and the income generated
from it, is used to support some
specific charitable causes.
Qatar Charity offers donors
the chance to support and make
the society prosper via several
charitable projects.
In the Holy Qur'an:{ My Lord,
have mercy upon them as they
brought me up (when I was
)small.} [Quran 17 :24] For
sure, this project is one of the
most important types of Waqf
projects that Qatar Charity has
launched .It constitutes a
practical demonstration of one’s
full submission to Allah as well
as showing gratitude to parents,
whether they are alive or dead.
The Prophet Muhammad (Blessings
and peace of Allah be upon him)
said: “When one dies, one’s
deeds come to an end except for
three cases: a permanent
charity, knowledge from which
others benefit and a righteous
child who supplicates to Allah
to forgive his/her deceased
parent.''
