With the support of Qatari people and within the framework of its interest in memorizing the Holy Qur’an in Bangladesh
, Qatar Charity is working to build and furnish 20 educational centers for memorizing the Holy Qur’an, and it is expected that 2,000 students will benefit from them.
These centers will be implemented in Faridpur, Jhinidah, Jessore, Kostia, Madaripur, Kishoreganj, Comilla, and Ghazipur. Each center will include classrooms with the aim of providing a suitable educational environment in poor communities.
A pioneering initiative
This initiative was welcomed popularly and locally. In this context, Ms. Lubna Sharmeen, the government representative in the Kishoregunj region, said: “Bangladesh is a country with a Muslim majority, and people want their children to memorize the Qur’an, and because educational institutions are not well furnished, we therefore consider Qatar Charity’s initiative to build centers.” Especially for memorizing the Qur’an, this is a praiseworthy initiative. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this.”
Safe and comfortable environment
Meanwhile, the head of the Qur’an Memorization Center in Comilla, Mr. Muhammad Shamim Khan, said: “We are happy to build and equip these centers, as the residents here are poor and unable to pay the financial expenses to teach their children the Holy Qur’an.”
Mr. Khan added, "Once the construction work is completed, 100 students will be able to study the Holy Quran. Thank you to the people in Qatar and to Qatar Charity for this kind initiative."
For his part, Mr. Habib Al-Islam Khan, Secretary of the Holy Qur’an Memorization Center in the Kishoregunj area, said: “The center was dilapidated, and the students were facing many problems due to the lack of facilities. Thanks to the reconstruction, now that Qatar Charity is rebuilding the center, comfort will be available for the students and teachers to perform their duties to the fullest.” ".
It is worth noting that in the past five years, Qatar Charity has built approximately 50 schools equipped with boarding sections for students, benefiting more than 10,000 students. Qatar Charity also sponsors 3,312 orphan children in Bangladesh and provides them with all educational expenses to ensure a good future for them.
