On the occasion of the ‘Reading Week’, the women’s branch of the Qatar Charity (QC) Centre for Community Development in Al Rayyan organized a series of special events and activities as part of the community partnership with other educational and national institutions.

The Center cooperated with Al Dhakira Model School for Boys in the preparation and presentation of a program entitled "What to read now?". A workshop entitled: "Reading is Life" was held for female teachers and parents in which trainer Sali from “Khair Jalees” Book Club spoke on the importance of reading to mind and spirit.

The trainer noted that teachers and parents are role models for their children in the context of efforts to promote reading and increasing their balance of knowledge and information. The trainer also discussed a range of skills that help encourage reading, and choose books that suit the age, trends, and specialization.

The Center provided the school with a collection of QC’s publications to be distributed to schools in Al Khor and northern areas of the country.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the center organized an activity entitled "My Healthy Breakfast with My Fingertips" for the students of Granada Independent Preparatory School for Girls in cooperation with the Diet Cafe Nutrition Center.

The activity reminded students of the importance of having breakfast daily, as it provides them with the necessary energy to practice the various activities of the school, and increases the level of concentration in the classes, which raises the level of student achievement.

With the aim of promoting the fine Qatari legacy, customs and traditions, Sheikha Al-Miftah has given an important lecture entitled: "Our customs are valuable" at Taiba Primary School for Girls, which was attended by a group of female teachers and administrative employees. During the lecture, Al-Miftah correlated the customs and traditions of the Qatari society with the principles of Islam.

In order to publicize QC’s role, and its local and international projects, the coordinator   Amina al-Tairi gave a lecture entitled "Qatar Charity Without Borders" at Al Ta'awon Primary Independant School For Girls, which was accompanied by a workshop entitled "Printing on Cups" held by Nour Hassan.

In cooperation with Ehsan, the center’s members participated in the competition entitled "recite Quranic verses in slow, measured rhythmic tones" held for mothers.
