The “Future’s Writers-3” program of Qatar Charity has completed its two-day training forum, during which dozens of students from primary, preparatory and secondary schools, have attended the workshops given by a number of professors at Qatar University and children’s authors.
Through the workshops, participating students came to learn about the elements of the story and how to write it in preparation for the second and final phase of the programs, which will be held soon. In the final phase, the students, who qualified in the first phase of the program, will write complete stories, competing for the first six positions for each educational stage.
The “Future’s Writers” program is implemented by Qatar Charity in cooperation with its various partners including the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Qatar University, Dar Rosa Publishing, Khair Jalees Book Club and program’s sponsor, Barwa Bank.
Dr. Hessa Al-Awadhi, a renowned children’s author, Sheikha Al-Ziyara, a Qatari author, and Lina Al-Aali, a trainer, have given the workshops to students from primary schools, while Dr. Ahmed Natouf and Dr. Rami Abu Shehab, both professors at Qatar University, trained the male students from preparatory and secondary schools.
However, Dr. Seeta Naqadan and Dr. Imtinan Al-Samadi, both professors at Qatar University, have trained the female students from the preparatory and secondary schools.
The students expressed their pleasure over the participation in the workshops, which covered both theoretical and practical aspects, as Abdullah Ahmad Mohammed Al-Maa'adid, a six-grade student said he became more confident in his story writing skills after attending the workshops and recommended his colleagues to read stories to enhance their talents.
For her part, Sheikha Nasser Al-Mohammadi, a fourth-grade student said she learned how to write an interesting story. “I am excited to write a full story to compete in the second phase of the “Future’s Writers program”, she added.
The program's instructors also expressed their happiness at participating in the training of promising talents in Qatar. Dr. Hessa Al Awadi pointed out that the program was wonderful.
For her part, Sheikha Ziyarah thanked the program’s organizers, noting that the workshops revealed the outstanding talents that will make stories more wonderful.
