QR14.5mn for “Gaza, the Right to Live” through Qatar Charity

Qatar Charity thanked the donors and Eid Charity for funding the campaign's projects and the media for mobilizing support.

With generous support from philanthropists in Qatar, total donations collected for Qatar Charity’s (QC) projects under the joint campaign "Gaza the Right to Live" amounted to around QR14.5mn, which constitutes 90% of the total donations of the campaign amounting to QR16mn.

These donations will be used to support health and education sectors and to implement income generation projects and those related to the provision of water and health services and many other social projects.

At the end of the campaign, Qatar Charity expressed its thanks and gratitude to the donors, both individuals and companies, for their significant contributions.

The charity said such donations from them reflects the level of trust Qatar Charity enjoys in the public and at the same time increase its commitment towards donors in order to expedite the implementation of the funded projects according to the best specifications through its office in Gaza,

The charity also thanked the media and social media influencers for their important role in the campaign.

Qatar Charity extended special thanks to Eid Charity for donating over QR7.6m under the campaign to implement 5 important projects, which include the operation of 7 health centers to benefit 24,000 people and the provision of assistance to dozens of patients with kidney failure, as well as the provision of prostheses for 200 people. The projects also include providing safe lighting for 7,000 families, and maintaining and rehabilitating sewage stations benefiting 40,000 people.

At the beginning of the campaign, Qatar Charity targeted the collection of QR10mn to implement several developmental projects in the field of social welfare, water and sanitation, but thanks to generous donators of Qatar, it has successfully collected around QR14.5mn for QC’s projects in Gaza under the campaign. 

Qatar Charity said it would begin immediately, through its office in the Gaza Strip, the implementation of the projects funded under the campaign.

The joint campaign, entitled “Gaza the Right to Live” was launched under the supervision of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) and with participation of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Qatar Charity (QC), Education Above All (EAA) and the Silatech Foundation, aiming at contributing to the development of Gaza Strip and helping alleviate the suffering of its people. The campaign ended with live coverage on Qatar TV to mobilize more support.
