Qatar Charity organizes activities for orphans in Pakistan
Qatar Charity, with the support of the people in Qatar, organized two entertainment activities for orphans in the Swat district of the Pakistani province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, with 400 children participating in games, competitions and awareness session.
These activities were held to bring joy to participating children, develop their creativity, improve their skills, enhance their self-confidence and increase the effectiveness of their communication with others.
On this occasion, an awareness session on international hygiene standards was held to grab the children’s attention towards cleanliness and personal hygiene and advise them to wash hands with soap before eating and after using toilets and returning home from outside.
Besides, hygiene kits and relevant pamphlets were distributed to them. Each kit includes soap, a shampoo, a comb, a nail clipper, a towel, a toothpaste and a brush.
The activities also included competitions in general knowledge, drawing, flying disc, tug of war, 100-meter race, and long jump.
The children participated in these activities enthusiastically, and were rewarded at the end.
The orphans thanked their sponsors and Qatar Charity for organizing these recreational activities for them, noting their positive impact.
In Pakistan, Qatar Charity sponsors nearly 6,000 persons, including 5,446 orphans, in addition to poor families, students, teachers, and people with special needs.
Through its “Rofaqa” initiative, Qatar has so far sponsored more than 156,000 orphans across the globe, making it the largest family of orphans in the world. By the end of 2019, Qatar Charity aims to raise this number to 200,000 sponsored persons.
