Evaluation of works for first phase of “Future’s Writers-4” commences

The judges for the fourth edition of Qatar Charity’s “Future’s Writers” programme started the evaluation of the works submitted by students taking part in the edition’s first phase, which witnessed the participation of approximately 2,655 students from 217 government and private primary, preparatory, and secondary schools.

The two-day competition for the first phase was held at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. From each educational levels, including primary, preparatory and secondary, 30 students, both male and female, are expected to be declared qualified for the next phase. 

The primary school students wrote an introduction on a story given by the judges, while the preparatory and secondary school student penned a descriptive essay. The best writers will be selected for the second phase, during which they will attend many training workshops and sessions designed to develop their story writing skills.

It is worth mentioning that through its “Future’s Writers” programme, Qatar Charity aims to contribute to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 by offering an array of activities to create a culture of reading, discover talents, and develop writing skills of students to build an educated generation capable to meet challenges.
