Qatar Charity holds various activities for orphans worldwide

Qatar Charity (QC) has recently implemented various training courses, sports and cultural activities, educational trips, and health checkups for the benefit of orphans in Sudan, the Gaza Strip in Palestine, and Indonesia.

The implementation of these activities came as part of comprehensive care for the sponsored orphans to develop their capabilities and skills in a healthy environment and in an atmosphere of fun and joy.

At the end of its annual activities for the sponsored children in Sudan, Qatar Charity, through its office in the country, has implemented many activities, including a specialized first aid course, benefiting more than 400 orphans in North Kordofan State. The course has covered both theoretical and practical aspects to teach the participants all first aid skills and how to use first aid kit. At the end of the course, the participating orphans were honored and given certificates recognized by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.

It also organized a celebration event on the Qatar National Day, in which more than 250 orphans, along with their mothers, participated. In addition to a variety of activities organized for children, the ceremony also witnessed the honoring of the orphans with outstanding academic record.

Gaza Strip

Qatar Charity’s office in the Gaza Strip has honored the orphans who memorized the Holy Quran, as part of a project aimed at encouraging children to learn the Holy Quran by heart. Some 100 children took part in the ceremony.

In Indonesia, Qatar Charity has implemented many programs for orphans, which included educational activities, health checkups, vocational training, camps, cultural trips, and handicraft workshops, benefiting nearly 1000 orphans within two months.

Amiruddin, head of the Social Welfare Department at Qatar Charity, said, “Within the past two months, Qatar Charity has organized around 7 programs for orphans studying at the elementary, preparatory and secondary schools, with the aim of  building a capable Indonesian generation."

The orphans also celebrated the Qatar National Day in Indonesia. More than 250 children participated in many cultural and poetry competitions organized on this occasion.

With sponsoring more than 14,000 orphans in Sudan, some 15,700 orphans in the Gaza Strip, and nearly 5,142 orphans in Indonesia, currently, Qatar Charity sponsors 163,470 orphans worldwide under its “Rofaqa” initiative, aiming to raise the number to 200,000 children in 2020.
