Qatar Charity unveils variety of remote programs for Eid Al-Adha
Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a variety of remote programs for the first ten days of Dhu Al-Hijjah and the Eid Al-Adha break, taking into account social distancing due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The programmes, which will be implemented by the Qatar Charity Centers for Community Development, are comprised of cultural competitions, stories on the Qatari heritage, and greeting cards that will be sent to the frontline health workers fighting the battle against the coronavirus.
The Local Development Department of Qatar Charity aims, through these meaningful programs, at promoting the values of Dhul Hijjah among the audience, enhancing Qatar Charity’s role in local development, and engaging people in joyful activities during the Eid Al-Adha holidays, in addition to telling stories on heritage.
Within the framework of these programs, a cultural competition on Hajj will be held via Qatar Charity’s account on Instagram, in cooperation with social media activities. The competition will commence on the first of the Dhu al-Hijjah month and will continue until the ninth of the month from 4 PM to 10 PM, targeting all sections of society. Participants will select a correct answer from among multiple-choice questions.
Besides, a recorded cultural program will be broadcast during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah and Eid Al-Adha, covering the customs and traditions of the Qatari community during these days, memories of Hajj, charity works, and ties of kinship.
All members of society can benefit from the program, which will promote the Qatari cultural identity and heritage, and familiarizing new generations with the traditions of grandparents.
Besides, greeting cards designed by individuals, both boys and girls, will be shared via Qatar Charity’s accounts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook in support and appreciation of the health workers, crisis management committee, patients, security guards, and volunteers during of Eid al-Adha.
The program aims at spreading joy in the current circumstances by involving family members in bringing creative ideas for greeting cards. The Local Development Department of Qatar Charity will continue to organize useful, influential, and supportive events for society.
