Jordanian PM praises Qatar Charity’s support for his country to fight COVID-19

His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr. Omar Al-Razzaz, has praised the contributions that Qatar Charity (QC) made in support of the kingdom’s efforts in fighting the corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This comes in a letter of thanks from the prime minister, in which he expressed his pride in the depth of relations between the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdome of Jordon under their wise leadership, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein.

As part of its global efforts aimed at curbing the outbreak of the coronavirus and extending support to the affected, Qatar Charity has equipped 400 caravans for quarantine services  and medical checkups on the southeast borders of Jordan, at an estimated cost of QR4mn riyals,  and with a capacity of 3600 people, aiming at examining those arriving through the borders.

Qatar Charity has distributed food baskets to 1,250 Syrian and Palestinian refugee and needy families affected by the coronavirus via coupons allowing beneficiaries to purchase basic food supplies.

Besides, Qatar Charity has provided medical and food aid as well as other assistance to many countries, including Yemen, Lebanon, Tunisia, Palestine, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sudan, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Chad and Kenya.

Qatar Charity has also signed several cooperation agreements with UN agencies such as UNICEF, UNHCR, and OCHA, to maximize the number of beneficiaries hit by the pandemic.
