Qatar Charity distributes winter aid in Kyrgyzstan and Palestine

As part of its winter campaign ‘Warmth and Peace”, Qatar Charity continues distributing winter aid to the families of orphans and poor households in Kyrgyzstan and Palestine, aiming to meet their basic winter needs and alleviate their suffering.

In Kyrgyzstan, Qatar Charity’s office provided winter clothes to orphans in Osh Region via 509 vouchers, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development and Osh city.

Officials at the Ministry of Social Development thanked the donors in Qatar and Qatar Charity for delivering the aid to meet the essential needs of the Kyrgyz beneficiaries, especially in a time when the continued coronavirus pandemic has increased the burden on the vulnerable families.

The beneficiary families expressed delight with the aid they were in need to keep their children warm in winter, especially when the temperature hits the lowest level.

Besides, Qatar Charity’s office in Palestine distributed winter supplies, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, benefiting 479 poor families from various governorates of the Gaza Strip.

The winter supplies included nylon roof covers to stop the rainwater flow inside the homes of the beneficiaries in winter, in addition to the blankets.

According to Luay Al-Madhoun, director of the Social Development Minister’s office, this relief project contributed to meeting the essential needs of the populations in the Gaza Strip in light of poverty and unemployment.

He added that this project contributed to providing protection for the poor families from the extreme cold and rainwater infiltration into their homes, in addition to lessening their economic pressures.

The beneficiaries expressed their happiness at receiving this assistance, which provided them and their families with warmth. Ilham Al-Muqid, a beneficiary, said now her children can sleep peacefully, while Muti` Al-Taramsi indicated that the Qatari aid provided a peaceful sleep for his children at night. He added that his house is seasonally subjected to drowning as a result of rainwater flowing into the house.

Qatar Charity distributes relief aid in Palestine’s West Bank

Qatar Charity’s office in Palestine, with the support from the benevolent people of Qatar, has distributed relief food aid to the affected in the West Bank, Palestine.

The aid, which was delivered as part of Qatar Charity’s ‘Help Palestine’ drive, has benefited 250 families, with an average of five members per family, in the governorates of Jenin, Tulkarm, Ramallah and Nablus in the West Bank. The beneficiaries are the most affected families, especially the families of workers.

As part of the drive, Qatar Charity continues to carry out urgent relief projects to provide food, shelter and medicine for the affected in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to alleviate their suffering.

In the Gaza Strip, Qatar Charity is gearing ups to implement other relief projects in the coming days to support various sectors, especially the health sector, which will provided with the necessary medicines, medical consumables, and beds for beneficiaries.

Continuing its relief efforts, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development, Qatar Charity has recently distributed food parcels to the affected people in the five governorates of the Gaza Strip, benefiting nearly 1,000 families. This is the second project implemented by Qatar Charity since the beginning of the recent crisis in the Gaza Strip. Earlier, it has provided blankets and mattresses for hundreds of the displaced.

Qatar Charity’s ‘Help Palestine’ campaign, which has received an overwhelming response from companies and individuals, is focusing on providing urgent food and health aid, distributing personal hygiene kits in light of the ongoing coronavirus, and rehabilitating and equipping health centers and hospitals to accommodate the largest number of patients and the injured.

As Qatar Charity is still receiving donations for the ‘Help Palestine’ campaign, it urges the benevolent people of Qatar to contribute to this relief drive to help the Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank meet their basic needs and benefit the largest possible number of those affected by the resent crisis that caused massive displacements and left thousands of victims.
