Sudanese government officials hail Qatar Charity’s humanitarian efforts
The Sudanese government expressed its appreciation and thanks to Qatar Charity for its humanitarian and charitable efforts, and several government officials, when they met with Qatar Charity’s delegation, praised the quality of its projects implemented in the various fields and in different states of the country.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation inaugurated the Taiba Education City in Omdurman, Sudan, in the presence of officials and people. The complex, which the largest of its kind in Sudan, provides inclusive services for 500 orphaned children.
The delegation included Mr. Nawaf Abdullah Al Hammadi, CEO’s Assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity and Mr. Hassan Odeh Hassan Odeh, Director of Qatar Charity’s Sudan office.
“Qatar Charity carried out a huge work in the states of Darfur and built entire model villages to house the displaced,” said the Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakheet upon receiving Qatar Charity’s delegation. The minister also indicated that the State of Qatar has become an icon in the field of humanitarian and voluntary work, with its support and assistance extended globally, appreciating the humanitarian efforts of the State of Qatar and Qatar Charity for the sake of humankind.
Sudan Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Najm al-Din Moussa, said that the new situation of the country requires continued support from Qatar Charity, announcing that the commission is ready to fully coordinate with it. He has highly valued its great support in various fields, pledging to facilitate the implementation of its projects in Sudan.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Yousra Mohammed Othman praised Qatar Charity’s various health projects, indicating that they are happy to enhance cooperation to accelerate the implementation of Qatar Charity’s various health projects in several states of Sudan.
Mr. Nawaf Abdullah Al Hammadi, CEO’s Assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity said Qatar Charity has many qualitative projects in many states of Sudan like the Darfur project which is among the largest ones implemented abroad. He added that Qatar Charity is ready to coordinate with the private and government sectors to implement projects in Sudan, where it has an important office, indicating that Qatar Charity focuses on development work.
Al Hammadi noted that Qatar Charity has partnerships with the United Nations agencies and international organizations, indicating that more than (90%) of its resources come from the donations made by philanthropists in Qatar. He stated that Qatar Charity implements various projects through its 32 field offices and supervises the implementation of its projects in 70 countries around the world through these offices, pointing out that Qatar Charity sponsors 15,000 orphans in Sudan.
