Qatar Charity receives in-kind donations from Apparel Group

Qatar Charity (QC) has, through its in-kind donations project ‘Tayf’, received in-kind donations from Apparel Group, as part of the group’s social responsibility towards the community.

The in-kind donations worth QR1.5mn, provided by Apparel Group in support of Qatar Charity’s ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive, included large collections of men's, women's and children's clothing and shoes.

The donated items will be channeled towards charitable causes that benefit low-income families and workers inside Qatar, and the underprivileged around the world.

Mr. Ahmmed Omar al-Sherawi, head of Qatar Charity’s Relationships and Community Partnerships section, praised Apparel Group’s continued co-operation and generous donations in support of community services and humanitarian projects, thanking its management for taking part in and contributing to the community service.

He noted that Qatar Charity is keen to collaborate and cooperate with all, including institutions and individuals, within the country, and welcomes the cooperation of various institutions and commercial bodies, emphasizing that Qatar Charity, through such cooperation, seeks to support the community work.

Sunil Thakkar, general manager of Apparel Group, expressed his delight with Apparel Group’s contributions to the community service, in cooperation with Qatar Charity. He said that the in-kind donations are part of Apparel Group’s social responsibility to contribute to supporting the humanitarian efforts made by Qatar Charity to benefit various communities locally and globally.

He underlined the keenness of Apparel Group to participate in activities and projects, in cooperation with Qatar Charity, praising the efforts of Qatar Charity in implementing humanitarian and charitable projects within Qatar and across the world.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity receives in-kind donations, including clothes, shoes, toys, furniture and electronic appliances from individuals and organizations for its ‘Tayf’ projects to benefit the people within and outside the country.
