Qatar Charity implements various development projects in Morocco

A delegation from the main office of Qatar Charity, represented by Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Hajji, Director of the Programs, and International Development Department, supervised and participated in the implementation of income-generating projects and laid the foundation stone for the Tangier Nursery Project, from 11 to 15 of December.

Supporting kidney patients

The Qatar Charity delegation also visited the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Prisoners, during which the two institutions were introduced, and the various programs provided by the Foundation for the benefit of this category were followed up. It was also agreed on the necessity of signing a framework agreement for partnership and cooperation between the two parties to maximize the impact of the programs and services provided for the reintegration of prisoners, through a package of joint projects in the field of economic empowerment to draw a smile of hope the persons that suffers and lacks opportunities to integrate in the society.

The delegation also visited a dialysis hospital in the city of Ouazzane, and 10 dialysis machines were provided with an electric chair for patients with kidney failure, which will contribute to enabling and enhancing health services for patients, increasing the hospital’s capacity, and alleviating the burden of disease. Economic empowerment

In the city of Chefchaouen, the team, in the presence of representatives of the local authorities, supervised the distribution of 220 heads of Alpine sheep,

For the benefit of 44 poor families in the countryside and rugged mountainous areas. This would contribute to increasing the value of milk production and its derivatives in the region and become a stable source of income for these families.

In the city of Tetouan, 100 sewing machines were distributed to specialized workers skilled in the art of embroidery, to secure a stable source of livelihood for them, contribute to the development of the textile sector in the region, raise the quality of traditional products, and preserve the authentic Moroccan traditional art.

Six tricycles were also distributed to unemployed youth qualified to manage this type of project to facilitate movement in remote, sprawling areas, and provide the basics of decent living by enabling these families to rely on themselves in meeting their basic needs and improving their income.

 The team's visit concluded with the laying of the foundation stone for the Tangier Nursery Building Project which provides living, educational, and health services along with shelter and comprehensive and integrated care for 40 children with mental, and intellectual disabilities to provide them with education and health, contribute to their protection and a safe environment that preserves a decent life for them.
