Qatar Charity (QC) organized health awareness lectures for workers to keep them well in winter. This came in conjunction with the distribution of winter kits to them within Qatar and in collaboration with Doha Municipality and Wellkins Medical Centre.

These awareness lectures aim to educate workers about taking precautions and necessary measures to maintain their health and protect themselves from diseases and infections that may arise and affect them due to cold weather.

Specialists from Wellkins Medical Centre participated in the health education lectures for the workers, providing them with important guidance and instructions to stay well during the winter season. They explained the necessary medical precautions to address health challenges that may arise under cold weather conditions.

Mr. Vishnu Prasad, Head of Social Service and Media, and Mr. Muhammed Shebily, Community Officer at Wellkins Medical Centre, delivered the awareness lectures in Arabic, English, and Hindi. They emphasized that lectures contribute to enhancing the protection of workers from cold, spreading awareness about the importance of maintaining health, and taking necessary preventive measures during the winter months to effectively prevent diseases.

Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, Director of the Programs and Community department at Qatar Charity, said that holding the awareness lectures alongside the distribution of winter kits reflects the extent of attention Qatar Charity pays to the health and well-being of workers, in addition to enhancing community engagement to keep individuals healthy and create a safe working environment. He also thanked Doha Municipality and Wellkins Medical Centre for their participation in this initiative and expressed gratitude to the donors for supporting Qatar Charity’s “One Heart” winter campaign.

Besides, Qatar Charity distributed winter kits to the workers of Doha Municipality, as part of the winter campaign. With this distribution, the total number of beneficiaries reached 1000 workers this winter season.

The distribution of the winter kits to the workers aims to alleviate the impact of the cold weather on them, especially in the early morning and late-night working hours. The kits included essential winter items, such as jackets, shoes, socks, and blankets.

In addition to the Doha Municipality, the winter kits were distributed to the workers of Al Sheehaniya, Al Jumailiya, and Al Shamal municipalities. The winter kit distribution to the company workers also took place in other areas such as Al Kharrara, Al Jeryan, Umm Qarn, and others.
