Qatar Charity Organizes a Camp for Burkina Faso Orphans

Qatar Charity has organized an educational camp and a recreational trip for Burkina Faso orphans as well as a ceremony to honor the outstanding orphaned students for the year 2016.

The Director of Operations Management at the Executive Department of  Operations at Qatar Charity. Eng. Khalid Al Yafei said that Qatar Charity has organized the camp in Burkina Faso to build and strengthen the educational and moral aspects of the sponsored orphans. This would help achieving the humanitarian and development goals of orphans' sponsorship project implemented by Qatar Charity in Burkina Faso.

Al Yafei thanked the people of Qatar for supporting the orphans.

For a Better Future

The second educational camp was held under the theme “Together Towards a Better Tomorrow” which lasted for 7 days in Bobo-Dioulasso and was attended by 250 orphans.

The camp aimed at consolidating the spirit of fraternity among orphans, and training them on practical life by cultivating sound concepts and values, providing educational lectures, holding dhikr and Quran sessions, holding cultural competitions and carrying out sport activities, which brought joy and happiness into the orphans' hearts.

A Recreational Trip

The Social Welfare Department organized a recreational trip to Validiko region in Hui state, which is located in the west of Burkina Faso, for the orphans who are sponsored by QC under the slogan “Entertaining an Orphan is A Religious and Social Duty”.

This trip aims at getting the orphans acquainted with tourism destinations in the country, their statues in Islam and their effective role in society, as well as strengthening the spirit of acquaintance between them and other individuals. Moreover, orphans also visited the agricultural areas and various activities were carried out.

Promising Future

In the presence of the orphans' sponsors, and the officials and heads of charitable organizations operating in Burkina Faso, the social welfare department organized a ceremony to honor the orphaned outstanding students for the year of  2016 in Bobo-Dioulasso city.

100 top orphaned students from primary and secondary schools have been honored.

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity office in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, organized a medical day for 600 orphans at Al Noor Medical Centre, under the slogan "Health Right for All". A representative of the Islamic Associations Union in Burkina Faso, the director of the Relief Organization, the director of Al Noor Medical Centre, and the director of Qatar Charity attended the medical day.

One Hundred Thousand Orphans

It is noteworthy that the number of orphans sponsored by QC exceeds one hundred thousand orphans, thus QC is considered the largest organization in the world in the field of orphans care. QC provides an integrated care as well as a monthly financial assistance to orphans in 34 countries.
