QC Inaugurates A Huge Educational Center in Indonesia

With the support of the Qatari philanthropists, QC inaugurated a huge educational center in West Java, Indonesia to help the orphaned students who cannot afford paying their educational fees.  The Minister of Religious Affairs in the Indonesian government, the Mayor of Purwakarta, the Executive Director for Operations Department in QC and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the House of Quran Schools and Institutes in Indonesia attended the opening ceremony.

This inauguration was part of a visit paid by QC delegation headed by Khalid Abdullah Al-Yafei, the Executive Director for Operations Department. During this visit, QC delegation opened a number of projects as part of QC plans and strategy targeting Indonesia and covering various areas including education in line with the development plans of the host state.

The Center Components

The project costed more than QR 4m, and was built on an area of ​​20.000 square meters. It includes two schools, two mosques, accommodation for male and female students, clinic, administrative office, cultural activities hall, accommodation for teachers, shops, sport spaces, green spaces, internal roads and a surrounding wall.

85 male and female students joined the center, and there are more than 300 students on the waiting list.  The students memorize the Holy Quran during 3 years and study the Indonesian educational curriculum at the different school stages.

The Opening Ceremony

The educational center was opened and the project's signboard was signed at the attendance of: Mr. Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, the Minister of Religious Affairs in the Indonesian government, Mr. Dedi Mulyadi, the Mayor of Purwakarta, Khalid Abdullah Al Yafei, the Executive Director for Operations Department in QC, and Prof. Musleh Abdul- Karim, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the House of the Quran Schools and Institutes in Indonesia. The attendees took a tour in the center's different units.

In a speech during the ceremony, Al-Yafei said, "Building this center will effectively contribute to the improvement of the educational level of the students and orphans as it would be an appropriate place for their education and accommodation.

 

He thanked the Minister of Religious Affairs for attending this ceremony, and all the Qatari philanthropists who helped building this center. Al-Yafei indicated that QC has implemented more than 6,500 projects in Indonesia and has sponsored more than 3,000 orphans. Further, he assured that QC and the Qatari philanthropists aim at drawing a smile on the needy people's faces and making them much happier.

The Officials Commendation 

 

For his part, the Minister of Indonesian Religious Affairs said,"  I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the generous donor for helping the students and orphans, pointing out that the institutes and educational centers are very important for bringing up good Muslims in this society. He noted that this project is the fruit of cooperation between two large prominent organizations: QC, which has implemented many important projects and the "House of Quran", which is a positive model in running the religious institutes and schools.

He added, "We cannot separate between the religious teachings and the daily life. These teachings should be reflected in our actions, advising the students to be diligent as long as they are provided with outstanding and furnished accommodations and classrooms.

Prof. Musleh Abdul- Karim, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the House of the Quran Schools and Institutes in Indonesia said," I would like to express the great pleasure of the region's people for opening this modern center where the students memorize the Holy Quran in 3 years, have a full command of English and Arabic and study general sciences just like any other student in the national schools."

He commended this generous donation as well as the ongoing efforts exerted by QC, especially in the field of education. Besides, Prof. Musleh Abdul- Karim pointed out  that " the House of Quran" includes many schools and institutes, but this center is the best, the most up-to-date and well-equipped. He stressed that the center could graduate good male and female students who can serve the Indonesian community.

Mr. Dedi Mulyadi, the Mayor of Purwakarta said," I'm so honored to have this integrated educational center among the schools in the city, where many religious and well-mannered scientists will graduate and face the problems of everyday life."

Trophies

At the end of the ceremony, Eng. Al Yafei gave QC trophies to the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Mayor of Purwakarta, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the House of the Quran and the representative of West Java governor. In return, QC received a certificate of appreciation and a trophy from the House of Quran in addition to another gift that will be sent to the generous donor.

The Impressions of Teachers and Students

One teacher called Mr. Hasbi Nasser said, "Working in this center is not easy as it is on 24-hours-a-day basis.  Moreover, teachers are responsible for raising the students' level."

Fassondriano, a student in the center said, "I am very happy because I study at this modern and beautiful center."

Hasna, a student in the center said, "When I enrolled to study here, I thought that my previous school is more beautiful, but, thankfully, this center is full of beautiful classes and green spaces. Further, I have my own closet and bed."

Aardiana, another student demonstrated t
