The Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) and the Qatar Charity (QC) renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on disaster and emergency management and humanitarian assistance.
The renewed MoU was signed by TRC’s general manager Dr. İbrahim Altan, and CEO's Assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity Mr. Nawaf Abdulla AlHammadi, in the presence of officials from the two sides.
The MoU aims to enhance strategic cooperation and partnership between the two sides to implement humanitarian projects, take advantage of their respective natural synergies in their humanitarian missions, coordinate their relief and humanitarian efforts, and consolidate future partnerships to implement relief projects and provide aid to the needy.
CEO's Assistant for the International Operations and Programs sector at Qatar Charity Mr. Nawaf Abdulla AlHammadi expressed Qatar Charity's happiness and pride in partnering with TRC to implement various relief and humanitarian projects. He said that this MoU is an extension of a previous agreement to implement joint humanitarian, relief, and developmental projects.
Al Hammadi underlined that the cooperation between Qatar Charity and TRC will continue and grow further in the coming period, to include coordinated efforts in several areas, most importantly in countries that are experiencing humanitarian crises and require humanitarian intervention, such as Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia.
For his part, TRC’s general manager Dr. İbrahim Altan expressed pride in the extended partnership with Qatar Charity, which TRC considers one of the most important partners. He noted that the two sides have implemented many joint projects and programs, looking forward to providing more efforts to achieve the common humanitarian goals.
It is worth noting that Qatar Charity had signed in 2016 a strategic memorandum of understanding with TRC. It included cooperation in various fields of humanitarian work in and outside Turkey with a focus on the areas of emergency response, shelter, health, disaster preparedness, water, food security and livelihoods. Since the signing of the memorandum of understanding, cooperation between the two sides has increased, and this cooperation is expected to grow further during the coming period.
