Qatar Charity organizes medical camp for workers

Qatar Charity (QC), in partnership with Center for Indian Community (CIC) - Qatar organized a medical camp for workers who are in the process of searching for work. Approximately 1,488 workers from various Asian nationalities benefited from the camp.

This medical camp was held to provide healthcare services and conduct essential examinations for the workers most in need, as well as foster a sense of social solidarity among community members. The camp was implemented with the support of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the Ministry of Municipality, and Wellcare Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Indian Pharmacists Association Qatar (IPhAQ), the Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), the General Directorate of Traffic, the Indian Doctors Club (IDC)- Qatar, and the United Nurses of India - Qatar (UNIQ).

The health services provided to workers in the camp included routine medical examinations like blood pressure and blood sugar checkups, weight measurement, and body mass index assessment. Additionally, general and specialized medical check-ups were conducted, along with the provision of medical consultations. Medications were provided free of charge. Furthermore, awareness workshops were conducted to educate the workers on the proper use of pedestrian pathways on roads to ensure their safety and prevent diabetes.

Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Hajri, Director of the Local Programs and Community department at Qatar Charity, stated, "This medical camp is part of Qatar Charity's efforts to improve the level of healthcare and enhance the social and health development of workers who play a crucial role in the economic development and infrastructure of the country." He extended sincere thanks and appreciation to all the partners and supporters of the medical camp, expressing hope that collaboration between the partners and supporters for the benefit of the workers will continue in the future.

Dr. Amena Abdulla Alansari, Manager of Umm Al Seneem Health Center, said, “We would like to thank, on behalf of PHCC and Umm Al Seneem Health Center, all those who contributed to the success of this medical camp for workers, including Qatar Charity, organizers, volunteers, contributors, and participants from all categories and specializations. We hope for continued cooperation for the benefit and service of individuals and society.

Mr. Qasim Abdulrahman, President of CIC, expressed his delight at the collaboration with Qatar Charity in organizing the medical camp, which provided a significant opportunity for the workers to obtain necessary treatments, undergo essential medical examinations, and receive early detection of certain diseases that could become hazardous over time if left untreated.

Mr. Ashraf K.P, Managing Director of Wellcare Pharmacy, expressed his happiness in participating in the camp organized for the workers most in need of health services. He also commended Qatar Charity's efforts for the local community, expressing hope for continued collaboration between the two entities in the future to benefit workers and individuals with limited income within the country.
