After more than a decade of ongoing violence, the misery of the people in the region of Darfur - Sudan still goes on. The aftermath of the conflict has left more than 1.5 million internally persons. Haunted by brutal memories of the recent past of war and conflict, the life of vulnerable families in Darfur is defined by deficit and dire need. Parents can no longer feed their children; young mothers are dying while giving birth and older adults are not able to access any form of healthcare. Clean water has become a luxurious commodity, where people have to drink from hand dug wells until they run dry, and sanitary systems are almost non-existing.
The drought and the war have left the region of Darfur paralysed, damaged the infrastructure, stifled economic growth and led hundreds of thousands of civilians at the brink of a humanitarian crisis. Life in the desert of Darfur is incredibly hard, and no one stands a chance to lead a good life if no prompt actions are taken.
Qatar Charity is launching several sustainable projects for the development of Darfur and the betterment of life of vulnerable civilians. In alignment with the UN sustainable development goals, we are working to carry out projects that promote:
* Building hospitals and clinics.
* Building and reconstructing schools and educational facilities
* Drilling water walls.
* Empowering vulnerable families to increase their income
* Help farmers and small business owners to start over.
Join Qatar Charity to restore hope to the vulnerable people of Darfur and please donate.
