Senior Al Furqan Initiative Delegation Commends the Impact of Qatar Charity-Supported Educational Program for Orphans in Albania

As part of its commitment to assessing the tangible impact of its humanitarian and educational initiatives, the Al Furqan Initiative, under Qatar Charity, sent a senior delegation to Qatar Center in Tirana, Albania, to review the progress of a comprehensive educational program benefiting 300 orphaned children aged 6 to 18.

Designed to nurture both knowledge and character, the program combines Qur’an memorization, Arabic language instruction, Islamic values education, and a range of educational and cultural activities that promote confidence, responsibility, and positive personal development.

The delegation, led by Mr. Mohammed Yahya Taher, Ambassador of the Al Furqan Initiative. It also included Mr. Ahmed Fakhroo, Executive assistant to the CEO, along with the generous donor supporting the initiative. The visit aimed to review the program’s implementation, assess its outcomes, and observe firsthand its transformative impact on the children it serves.

During the visit, the delegation toured classrooms, observed Qur’an memorization and Arabic language sessions, and received a comprehensive briefing on the center’s educational approach, which integrates academic learning with moral and spiritual development to instill strong values and build resilient young personalities.

The delegation also attended a Qur’an Memorization and Recitation Competition, where students demonstrated remarkable proficiency and confidence clear evidence of the program’s educational success and the progress achieved. The event concluded with an awards ceremony honoring outstanding participants and encouraging them to continue their journey of learning and memorizing the Holy Qur’an.

A 24-hour educational camp was also organized for 50 children, featuring inspirational lectures on the role of the Holy Qur’an in shaping character, alongside interactive educational, cultural, and recreational activities that strengthened teamwork, discipline, self-confidence, and leadership skills.

Delegation members expressed their appreciation for the high standard of implementation and organization, commending the dedication of the program staff and highlighting the visible positive impact on the children’s Qur’anic achievement, personal conduct, and ethical development.

The initiative forms part of Qatar Charity’s broader commitment to empowering vulnerable children through sustainable education. The curriculum begins with Arabic letters and language fundamentals before guiding students through the memorization of selected chapters of the Holy Qur’an from Surat Ad-Duha to Surat An-Nas while progressively strengthening their recitation skills. It also provides essential Islamic education, complemented by cultural activities, recreational programs, and educational field visits that help children grow into confident individuals who remain connected to their faith, identity, and values.

The visit underscores the vital role of field monitoring in ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability of humanitarian programs. It also reflects Qatar Charity’s unwavering commitment to turning donor generosity into measurable and lasting impact—opening new horizons for orphaned children and equipping them with the knowledge, values, and confidence to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
