Qatar Charity Thanks Donors as Udhiyah Project Reaches Over 900,000 Beneficiaries globally

Doha – 31 May 2026 Qatar Charity (QC) has thanked donors for their strong support of the Qurbani (Udhiyah) Project, implemented under its seasonal campaign “The Greatest Days.” With the support of benefactors, the project was carried out during Eid Al-Adha in 43 countries, including Qatar, bringing relief and joy to hundreds of thousands of vulnerable families. The organization distributed meat from 45,763 sacrificial animals—exceeding the campaign target by 3,113—benefiting more than 900,000 people, at a total cost of approximately QAR 30 million. The project aimed to promote social solidarity, support families in need, and revive the practice of Qurbani. Outside Qatar, implementation focused on countries affected by ongoing crises, particularly Palestine (including Gaza), Somalia, Syria, Kenya, and Sudan, helping strengthen food security and reach the most vulnerable groups. Within Qatar, beneficiaries included low-income families, orphan households, widows, divorced women, and families of prisoners. The project’s success was supported by Qatar Charity’s field offices in more than 33 countries, partnerships with local organizations, and early planning, including contracting reliable suppliers and preparing verified beneficiary lists. In Qatar, distribution was facilitated through smart vouchers via the “Alaqraboon” app, ensuring an organized and accessible delivery process. Commenting on the project, Mr. Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, Executive Director of Communications and Community Impact at Qatar Charity, thanked donors for their generosity and trust. He noted that the project exceeded its target by around 7 percent, reflecting the strong engagement of supporters and their continued commitment to helping those in need. The project was implemented in 42 countries in addition to Qatar, including Niger, Indonesia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Philippines, Pakistan, Tanzania, Gambia, South Africa, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Palestine (Ramallah and Gaza), Côte d’Ivoire, Kosovo, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Morocco, Benin, Burundi, Togo, Mali, Syria, Albania, Jordan, India, Yemen, Burkina Faso, Türkiye, Chad, Tunisia, Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Egypt, Mauritania, Somalia, Bangladesh, Senegal, and Sudan.

Qatar Charity Participates in Global Partnerships Conference in London
Qatar Charity (QC) took part in the Global Partnerships Conference, held in London on May 19–20, 2026, as part of the State of Qatar’s delegation. The organization was represented by Ms. Aisha Abdulrazzaq AlKuwari, Director of Humanitarian Operations. The conference was co-organized by the UK Government, the Government of the Republic of South Africa, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and British International Investment (BII). It is regarded as one of the leading international platforms focusing on the future of global partnerships and the financing of humanitarian and development efforts, bringing together governments, international institutions, humanitarian and development organizations, donors, and the private sector. Qatar Charity’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening its international presence and expanding its network of strategic partnerships. It attended several panel discussions and bilateral meetings with international partners and organizations. These engagements seek to explore avenues for cooperation and exchange expertise and insights on the most pressing current humanitarian challenges and response mechanisms. The conference addressed several key areas, including the development of international partnership models, the strengthening of locally led humanitarian action, response to crises and conflicts, anticipatory social protection, and displacement solutions, alongside exploring innovative financing mechanisms to address global humanitarian challenges. The conference also featured in-depth discussions on the implications of declining traditional development financing for the world’s most vulnerable communities, amid escalating global challenges such as conflict, climate change, fragile health systems, economic instability, and forced displacement. Participants emphasized the importance of advancing flexible partnership models that bring together governments, multilateral institutions, the private sector, and civil society, enabling the development of more sustainable and adaptive solutions to rapidly evolving humanitarian challenges.

Qatar Charity Distributes Eid Clothing to Thousands of Orphans globally
Thanks to generous donors, Qatar Charity (QC) distributed Eid clothes to thousands of sponsored orphans in 22 countries, including Qatar. This is part of the organization’s 'Greatest Days' campaign during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, aiming to bring joy to children ahead of Eid al-Adha. This project is part of Qatar Charity’s 'Rofaqa' initiative to support orphans and their families. By providing basic needs during the Eid holidays, it helps ease the financial pressure on families and promotes kindness and community support. In Djibouti, 600 sponsored children benefited from the initiative, expressing visible happiness upon receiving their new Eid clothes. One beneficiary’s mother described the gesture as a source of immense joy for families, noting its positive impact on children. In Sri Lanka’s Ampara district, 250 orphans received Eid clothing through shopping vouchers, allowing them to select their outfits alongside their families. This approach enhanced their sense of dignity, confidence, and inclusion within their communities. In southern Türkiye, 686 Eid clothing cards were distributed to sponsored orphans from Syrian refugee families and host communities. The initiative enabled children to choose their clothing independently, reinforcing their sense of self-worth and participation in the festive spirit. In Mauritania, 250 orphan boys and girls benefited from Eid clothing packages that included garments, toys, and gifts, while similar distributions reached 350 orphan children in Pakistan’s Kashmir, providing them with new clothes and footwear for Eid celebrations. Meanwhile, in Niger and Mali, Qatar Charity distributed Eid clothing to 500 orphans—250 in each country—creating a festive atmosphere and drawing appreciation from beneficiaries and their families, who expressed gratitude for the donors’ support. It is worth noting that Qatar Charity’s “The Greatest Days” campaign for the year 1447 AH includes the implementation of the Eid Clothing Project for orphans in around 21 countries worldwide. The project targets thousands of orphans sponsored by donors through Qatar Charity, at a total cost of approximately QAR 2.5 million, and is expected to benefit about 8,200 children by providing them with essential Eid supplies. Qatar Charity Inaugurates Multi-Service Center in Nouakchott
Qatar Charity (QC) has officially inaugurated a new multi-service center in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott. Funded by Qatar’s benefactors, the facility is designed to strengthen social development, upgrade basic services, and provide an integrated package of educational, health, Islamic, and economic services to the local population. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Beitellah Ould Ahmed Laswed, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and H.E. Mr. Shaheen bin Ali Al-Kaabi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mauritania, as well as several government officials and local representatives. Development Impact During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Omer Abdelaziz Mohamed, Country Director of Qatar Charity’s Mauritania Branch, stated that the establishment of this integrated development facility in Toujounine, in the Nouakchott North Region, reflects the organization’s approach of implementing projects that bring together multiple essential services in one location to maximize development impact. He added that the center features a mosque to promote Islamic values, a school to educate future generations, and a clinic to provide healthcare in the district. It also includes social spaces and endowment-based commercial shops that will contribute to the sustainability and operation of the facility. Shared Vision H.E. Shaheen bin Ali Al-Kaabi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mauritania, thanked Qatar Charity for its development efforts in Mauritania through implementing vital projects in education, health, water, and economic empowerment, reflecting its commitment to its noble humanitarian mission. The Ambassador emphasized that the project represents a practical expression of the deep-rooted historical relations between Qatar and Mauritania, built on mutual respect, fraternity, and a shared vision for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.
