Qatar Charity Signs MoU with Bosnia Ministry to Support Returnees

​Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees in Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement joint development projects aimed at supporting returnees and improving their living conditions. The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohammed Washan, Director of Qatar Charity’s Bosnia and Herzegovina Branch, and H.E. Mr. Nerin Dizdar, Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees, in the presence of Mr. Hassan Mohd Al-Naemi, General Supervisor of Qatar Charity’s Bosnia and Herzegovina Branch. During the meeting, both sides reviewed Qatar Charity’s ongoing activities in the country and discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in implementing sustainable development projects that benefit local communities. This agreement reflects Qatar Charity’s vision to expand its humanitarian and development work by meeting real needs, especially by supporting returnees and strengthening economic empowerment, helping achieve stability and sustainable return. Mr. Hassan Mohd Al-Naemi highlighted the importance of the partnership in expanding Qatar Charity’s humanitarian and development work, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to ensuring effective implementation and maximizing impact. Mr. Mohammed Washan emphasized that partnerships with government entities play a key role in improving the efficiency of project delivery and ensuring assistance reaches those most in need. For his part, Minister Nerin Dizdar expressed appreciation for Qatar’s continued support since 1994, noting that the memorandum reflects a shared commitment to improving the conditions of returnees through projects in infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment. Qatar Charity’s Alaqraboon Center Supports 17,500 Local beneficiaries Through Udhiyah Project
Doha –June 2, 2026 Qatar Charity (QC), through its Alaqraboon Center, successfully implemented its sacrifice (Udhiyah) project in Qatar, benefiting around 17,500 individuals from low‑income families, as part of its “The Greatest Days” campaign. The project was carried out with the support of generous donors in Qatar and reflects Qatar Charity’s continued commitment to strengthening social solidarity and supporting those with limited income across the country. It targeted a wide range of beneficiaries, including low‑income families, widows, divorcees, orphans and their families, and families of prisoners. Meat from a total of 1,750 sacrifices was distributed, ensuring efficient, transparent delivery and maximizing the humanitarian impact of donors’ contributions. Smart Distribution The Alaqraboon Center adopted a smart distribution mechanism using electronic coupons through its mobile application. Beneficiaries received notifications enabling them to select the nearest collection point and a convenient time for receipt. This system helped streamline operations, reduce congestion, and provide a smooth and flexible experience, while preserving beneficiaries’ dignity and privacy—reflecting Qatar Charity’s approach to leveraging digital solutions in humanitarian service delivery. Distribution was conducted through more than 25 Al Meera branches across Qatar, ensuring accessibility and timely delivery throughout the Eid period. Community Service Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Faisal Rashid AlFehaida, Executive Director of Alaqraboon Center, expressed his appreciation to donors, stating: “We extend our sincere thanks to our generous donors whose contributions enabled us to reach this number of beneficiaries. We were keen to ensure a smooth and efficient distribution process this year, while respecting beneficiaries’ privacy through the smart solutions adopted.” He added that the project reflects Qatar Charity’s mission to serve the local community and promote the values of compassion and solidarity, noting that donor trust remains fundamental to the success and sustainability of such initiatives Eid Gift Alongside the sacrifice project, Alaqraboon Center implemented a series of child‑focused programs under the same campaign, including the Eid Gift (Eidi) Project and the “Eid Joy” program, benefiting 1,656 orphans and children from low‑income families. The Eid Gift initiative provided direct financial support to children, helping them meet their Eid needs. Eid Joy The Eid Joy program offered recreational and interactive activities designed to bring happiness and strengthen social inclusion during the festive season. The activities included dedicated events for boys and girls, featuring entertainment, workshops, competitions, and the distribution of gifts in a festive and supportive environment. Qatar Charity Implements Education and Social Housing Projects in Albania
Doha –June 2, 2026 With the support of donors, Qatar Charity (QC) has carried out several education and social housing projects in Librazhd in southern Albania, benefiting hundreds of vulnerable individuals, including orphans and low-income families. The projects were launched in the presence of officials from the Qatari Embassy in Tirana and local authorities. They aim to support students with their school needs and improve family stability. The implemented activities included the distribution of school bags—containing notebooks, textbooks, and stationery—to 150 students from the most vulnerable groups. In addition, school uniforms were provided to 70 orphaned children, while two housing units were handed over to needy families. The launch ceremony was attended by Mr. Gazmir Bahiti, representing the Mayor of Librazhd; Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammad Al-sahly, Second Secretary at the Embassy of the State of Qatar; and Mr. Karam Aly, Country Director of Qatar Charity’s Albania Branch. Family Stability Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Karam Aly, stated that these projects reflect a deep understanding of the needs of the local community. He noted that they contribute to strengthening family stability and enabling children to continue their education in a supportive environment. He also affirmed Qatar Charity’s commitment to implementing impactful and sustainable projects in partnership with local stakeholders. Qatar Charity Distributes Food Baskets to Arab Communities in Somalia
Doha –June 2, 2026 Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed food baskets to families from Yemeni, Syrian, and Sudanese communities in Somalia, as well as to Somali families displaced from Yemen. The initiative, implemented under the “The Greatest Days” campaign and supported by donors in Qatar, benefited 1,854 people, aiming to ease their difficult living conditions. Refugees & IDPs Mr. Abdulfatah Adam, Country Director of Qatar Charity’s Somalia Branch, said the initiative reflects the organization’s ongoing efforts to support the most vulnerable groups, especially during the blessed days of Dhul-Hijjah. He explained that beneficiaries were carefully selected to ensure the assistance reaches those most in need. He added that Qatar Charity continues to expand its humanitarian work to support refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and those affected by crises, in line with its broader relief efforts in Somalia, where food assistance helps families facing hardship due to conflict and drought. For his part, H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, praised Qatar Charity’s humanitarian role and the continued support provided by the State of Qatar to the Somali people. Water Projects The “Greatest Days” campaign includes a range of food and water projects. It focused on providing food baskets for people affected by ongoing crises, while also supporting longer-term solutions such as agriculture and small livestock projects to enhance food security. The campaign also supported water projects, including well drilling, to help address water shortages and drought in several countries. Easing Daily Burdens Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the assistance, noting that it helped them meet their basic needs during challenging economic conditions. Mr. Mohammed Ali Al-Tayyar from the Syrian community said the support eased daily burdens and thanked the donors, Qatar Charity, and the Somali people for their support.
