The International Scientific Conference on Social Responsibility 2023, organized by Qatar National Library in partnership with the Regional Network for Social Responsibility and the International Islamic University Malaysia, honored Qatar Charity as one of the institutions with a social impact and the winner of the Excellence Awards in the field of social responsibility 2023 “Eltizam”.
His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, Minister of State and the President of Qatar National Library, handed over the award to Mr. Faisal bin Rashid Al-Fahida, Assistant CEO of the Programs and Community Development Sector at Qatar Charity.
Qatar Charity contributed to sponsoring this conference based on its social responsibility, considering that this conference is an opportunity to benefit from scientific research and success stories from the various participating Arab countries.
Qatar Charity participated in a working paper, during which it reviewed the success stories of its projects in the State of Qatar, through “Izdihar” initiative that it launched in October 2022 with the aim of sponsoring voluntary initiatives and events.
"Izdihar" initiative was able to provide support for more than 10 community initiatives during 2023, launch more than 7 initiatives, and has a database of more than 21,000 volunteers since October 2022, in addition to including nearly 500 volunteer specialists to train and qualify volunteers for (volunteer program), in addition to contributing nearly one million volunteer, and providing 230 volunteer opportunities.
It is noteworthy that the International Conference on Social Responsibility was held in mid-June, with the participation of large and high-level international and Arab figures and entities. The conference working papers discussed the topic "Social Responsibility in the Arab World: Achievements and Challenges".
