Qatar Charity has completed the training program for the second edition of the “Tamkeen” program, which was launched under the slogan “Tomorrow’s success we create today”, in cooperation with several partners.
During the coming days, participants will give presentations on how much they have benefited from the program and how to apply it to their projects, and then the winning projects will be selected.
“Tamkeen” is an integrated training program that relies on developing the necessary skills in the areas of economic, psychological, and social empowerment, provided remotely through social media networks or through direct training in a way that suits the target groups.
Target groups
The training program included 10 specialized technical, administrative, and skills workshops that included several titles and topics, namely “Licensing and Commercial Registry,” “Intellectual Property,” “Define Your Project Idea,” in addition to “Risk Management,” and “Business Model.”
The program also included a workshop on “Developing a Visual Identity,” and “How to Prepare a Marketing Plan for Your Project,” in addition to a workshop on “Feasibility Study,” and another workshop entitled “Product Pricing,” and “Financial Management for Non-Financial People.”
30 productive families (women and men) with limited income and families receiving financial aid benefited from the training program. The program is implemented in two ways. The first is to train the heads of families in professional crafts to master them technically and to give them the mechanisms and principles to market their projects through social media. The second method is to technical training for beneficiaries based on their crafts and projects that need development and marketing.
Several entities are participating in implementing the program, namely: the Ministry of Social Development and Family - the Ministry of commerce and Industry - Qatar Development Bank - Namaa Social Center - Qatar University - the First Global Development Center for Consultations - Confuso Technical Solutions.
Impressions and opinions
Several workshop presenters emphasized the importance of the training program and considered it the first step to establishing new projects. Engineer Maddallah Al-Issa from the First Global Development Consulting Company explained that the Tamkeen program is concerned with developing the capabilities of the participants cognitively through the training program and financially by supporting the participants to start their small and medium projects. He considered the program to be an important opportunity for those wishing to establish a company or pioneering project. He added that in the company, they provide consultations for projects, starting with the feasibility study, studying the profitability of projects, treating troubled projects, and others.
The participants in the program expressed their happiness and the extent to which they benefited from the program, Mrs. Nadia Al-Yahri, one of the beneficiaries of the program, explained that she opened her project six months ago, indicating that she benefited from the program a lot as it helped her to know the weak points in the project and she said that she is currently working on developing the company, offering her thanks and appreciation to Qatar Charity for giving her this opportunity.
Mr. Ali Hussein, one of the beneficiaries of the program, said that he benefited greatly from the training program, especially in the field of management, noting that it was an opportunity to learn about the experiences of many parties and in different fields, which would help him greatly in developing his work.
