Qatar Charity (QC), supported by generous donors, provided 35 income-generating projects for mothers of sponsored orphans in Yemen. This initiative aims to economically empower these women, helping them achieve self-reliance, and live with dignity. It marks a significant shift from financial dependence to sustainable development.
Each beneficiary family received a full set of tools and equipment to start small-scale pastry and dessert production businesses. This included a modern oven, gas cylinder, dough mixer, and generous quantities of essential raw materials such as flour, sugar, oils, ghee, and eggs, as well as a variety of flavors and dried fruits.
Beneficiary mothers expressed their joy at receiving the tools, which enable them to produce and sell pastries and desserts. With the equipment in hand, these women can now produce and sell baked goods, creating a sustainable source of income to support their households.
One such woman, Asya Mohammed, a widow who used to borrow baking tools from neighbors, shared her joy, "I always dreamed of owning my own equipment—today, I received more than I ever imagined. I am truly grateful to Qatar Charity and the kind donors. I am determined to make my project a success."
Filled with joy upon receiving the tools, Mrs. Umm Ahmed, a mother of several orphans, described the project as a turning point. “It will cover rent and my children’s education, moving us from hardship to hope,” she said. Determined to succeed, she aims for financial independence.
