As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed vital food aid to vulnerable families in Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar, benefiting more than 12,000 individuals. The initiative aimed to ease the suffering of underprivileged communities and strengthen their resilience in the face of growing hardships.
This humanitarian intervention comes in response to mounting challenges faced by fragile communities, including environmental degradation, deforestation, landslides, water scarcity, and increasing competition for essential resources such as land, employment, healthcare, and education. These pressures have placed a heavy burden on local infrastructure.
Families who received the aid expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Qatar. “We have been struggling to feed our children as food prices have gone up and work becomes scarce,” said Sukh Bilash, a mother of three. “This food aid will help us feed our children for several days.”
Mr. Nur Mohammad Anowar, a representative of the local government, said, “Support for host communities is essential to maintaining harmony and sustainability. We appreciate Qatar Charity for stepping in and addressing the needs of our people.”
It is worth mentioning that Qatar Charity executed a series of impactful medical initiatives in Bangladesh last month. These included a specialized medical camp for children with congenital heart defects, a dedicated campaign offering cardiac catheterization procedures for adults and the elderly, and the provision of medical aid and wheelchairs to various hospitals and healthcare centers in the country.
