Qatar Charity Rebuilds Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque in, Jordan

As part of its ongoing efforts to support the local communities, Qatar Charity has rebuilt the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque in the Alkarak region of Jordan. The project was funded by a generous donor from the State of Qatar and implemented in coordination with Jordan’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places.

The mosque was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Saleh Ghorab Al-Marri, General Supervisor of Qatar Charity's office in Jordan; Dr. Qablan Al-Sharif, Governor of Karak; Dr. Ali Al-Haisa, Mayor of Karak; and several officials, sheikhs, and local dignitaries. The mosque cost approximately 500,000 Jordanian dinars, with a construction area of ​​900 square meters. It can accommodate 800 worshippers and includes a main prayer hall for men and women, ablution areas, a residence for the imam, and a warehouse.

Gratitude and Acknowledgment

Minister Al-Khalaileh expressed his appreciation to the State of Qatar its leadership, government, and people and to the Qatari donor who funded the reconstruction of the mosque through Qatar Charity. He emphasized that the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque is a vital religious and social center in the area, highlighting the depth of fraternal ties between Jordan and Qatar.

He further stated that mosques are beacons of faith, knowledge, and values, and their construction is a continuous charitable act that strengthens social cohesion and supports development.

For his part, Sheikh Musleh Al-Khatib, the local Imam, extended his thanks to Qatar Charity for restoring the mosque, which had previously fallen into disrepair and could no longer serve the worshippers. He affirmed the importance of this mosque in the daily spiritual life of the people in Azraq.

The opening ceremony was attended by several religious figures, local community leaders, and officials, all of whom praised the generous Qatari donor and the role of Qatar Charity in enhancing the religious infrastructure in underserved areas.
