Qatar Charity held a silent humanitarian solidarity vigil on Monday, July 28, 2025, in front of its headquarters in the Qatari capital, Doha. Several humanitarian organizations from around the world participated in this humanitarian action. This vigil was an urgent humanitarian call to save civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially children, women, and the elderly, who are facing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe under a stifling blockade and a systematic denial of humanitarian aid entry, leading to a worsening famine and a near-total collapse of basic services.
Humanitarian Action
The silent stand took place in front of the Qatar Charity headquarters in Doha, with the participation of professionals in the humanitarian and legal fields. It also included volunteers and staff, all standing in symbolic silence wearing, in a gesture of solidarity with the people of Gaza and mourning the loss of innocent lives.
Objectives
Participants in the stand emphasized the urgent need for the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza without conditions or restrictions, to protect civilians, especially the most vulnerable children. They also called for the protection of relief workers and medical personnel operating in the field.
This movement served as a reminder to the international community of its responsibility toward the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, which has become a tragic reality that cannot be ignored.
Shared Hashtag
In conjunction with the stand, a digital campaign was launched across social media platforms under the shared hashtag:
#Gaza_Is_Dying_of_Hunger
The campaign involved activists, influencers, journalists, and public figures who collectively called for breaking the blockade and saving innocent lives.
Catastrophic Situation
More than 600,000 children and over one million women and elderly people live in Gaza, which occupies less than 1.4% of the total area of historic Palestine. They endure tragic and inhumane conditions due to the ongoing siege, which has severely restricted access to essential resources, leading to acute food insecurity and widespread malnutrition among children.
