Qatar Charity has inaugurated a comprehensive housing and development project in Nigeria, featuring 50 residential units of varying sizes, a medical clinic, a primary school, 10 commercial shops, a mosque, a deep-water well, and agricultural land to empower needy families economically.
The project provides homes for 50 families, farmland for 40 families, and commercial shops for 10 families, supporting their path toward sustainable livelihoods.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Mr. Malam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser, representing H.E. Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria; H.E. Mr. Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State; Mr. Abbas Tajudeen, Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives; Mr. Tahir Liman, Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly; Mr. Hamdy Abdu, Director of Qatar Charity’s office in Nigeria; alongside several ministers and dignitaries.
In his address on behalf of the President, Mr. Ribadu stated:
“The strong partnership between Kaduna State Government and Qatar Charity to provide shelter, education, healthcare, and housing for vulnerable groups has made a profound impact. The project has secured housing units for widows, orphans, families, and displaced communities, while offering free education, healthcare, and a skills acquisition center to help the poor rebuild their livelihoods.”
He added that these developmental initiatives are gradually restoring peace and praised both the Kaduna State Government and Qatar Charity for this fruitful collaboration, extending gratitude on behalf of the President to Qatar Charity for supporting vulnerable groups.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State highlighted:
“This project is not merely about handing over keys but about restoring dignity and rebuilding lives torn apart by violence.”
He also praised Qatar Charity for its exceptional commitment to global solidarity and diverse interventions, ranging from water wells to scholarship programs, irrigation equipment, and healthcare centers, which have transformed lives not only in Kaduna but worldwide.
Beneficiaries Express Gratitude
The project has been warmly received by beneficiaries, who expressed the significance of the initiative.
Hawwa Harun, a widow raising five children, said:
“The people of Qatar have provided a home for me and my children. This is a dream come true. Thank you, Qatar Charity, for this generous gesture.”
Similarly, Ibrahim Younsa Ayatawa commented:
“No one has helped us like the people of Qatar. They gave me a home. I pray that Allah rewards you abundantly and grants you a home in Paradise.”
