With the back-to-school season approaching, Qatar Charity has launched an educational event to highlight the pressing needs in education around the world, raising awareness about the importance of enabling underprivileged students to access education, which is a fundamental right and a cornerstone of sustainable human development.
The Corridor of Pens
Qatar Charity offers a unique experience called the “Corridor of Pens,” held at Jiwan Island from August 26 to September 2, daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This interactive experience is creatively designed to leave an emotional impact, featuring a long corridor from which many pens hang from the ceiling. Each pen holds a small paper with facts about the educational conditions in some of the world’s most needy countries. As visitors walk through the corridor, they are accompanied by sound effects simulating a school environment: the ringing of bells, children laughing during recess, and the sound of the school bus, creating a moving emotional moment that reinforces the humanitarian message of the event.
Activities for Children
The event is not limited to the interactive corridor. It also includes a fun, child-focused activity, with a large mural featuring back-to-school illustrations. Children and their families can color the mural using available tools and paints, adding a family-friendly interactive dimension that strengthens the message of solidarity with students worldwide.
In-Kind Donations
A large transparent schoolbag sculpture has been designed so that visitors can place in-kind donations, including school bags, stationery, and other educational supplies. After the event, these donations will be delivered to children from underprivileged families in Qatar. At the end of the corridor, visitors find an illuminated glass box symbolizing the hope and light that education brings into children’s lives, encouraging donors to give in a profoundly emotional moment.
Invitation to Participate
Qatar Charity invites all members of the community families, children, and visitors to take part in the “Corridor of Pens” experience at Jiwan Island and contribute to this noble humanitarian campaign. Every step in the corridor is a message of solidarity, and every contribution is a seed of hope for a better future for children around the world.
Acknowledgments
On this occasion, Qatar Charity extends its gratitude to United Development Company, represented by the General Services Department, for supporting charitable initiatives by providing this important space, including the screens used as advertising areas, as part of a fruitful humanitarian partnership.
