In conjunction with the "Education 2025" initiative launched by Qatar Charity to enhance the quality of education and expand access to it in crisis areas and communities in need, and with the support of Qatari people, Qatar Charity launched a series of educational projects in Djibouti at the start of the new school year. These projects benefited more than 100 male and female students in the areas of Ali Sabieh Province and the capital, Djibouti.
These projects included the distribution of school uniforms, bags, books, and school supplies, in addition to the delivery of bicycles to students facing difficulties in reaching their schools. They also provided a year-long school feeding program, with the aim of improving the learning environment, alleviating the burden on needy families, and reducing school dropout rates. This initiative was widely welcomed by families and residents of the beneficiary areas, who expressed their happiness with this assistance, which alleviated their financial burdens and enabled their children to continue their education. Mr. Mohamed Moussa, Chairman of the Basic Education Committee at the Ministry of Education in Djibouti, emphasized the importance of these projects in supporting students' attendance and providing a suitable learning environment. He praised the effective role played by Qatari aid in supporting the education sector in Djibouti.
Student Ian Barkhad Ismail said, "The school uniform and bag made me feel ready and excited to go to school from the first day of school, like the rest of my classmates." Mohamed Omar Ismail expressed his gratitude for receiving a bicycle, saying, "I used to face great difficulty getting to school, but now the road is much easier."
Hawa Abdallah Farah, a beneficiary of the feeding program, added, "The meals help us concentrate better in class, and I feel more energetic and motivated to complete my lessons." Supporting the Initiative
The distribution of these educational aids coincides with the "Education 2025" initiative, recently launched by Qatar Charity. The initiative aims to empower children in vulnerable communities to realize their right to education by providing a safe and inclusive learning environment and providing students with the necessary support. Qatar Charity takes this opportunity to urge philanthropists to continue their support for the initiative to reach the largest possible number of beneficiary students.
