Joint Qatari-Jordanian humanitarian convoy reaches the Vulnerable in southern Syria

9/15/2025

As part of a coordinated humanitarian initiative between the State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a humanitarian aid convoy has successfully reached affected communities in southern Syria. The effort, spearheaded by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and Qatar Charity (QC), was carried out in direct coordination with the Syrian government and the Qatari Embassy in Damascus.

The convoy entered Syria through the Nasib border crossing, delivering urgent humanitarian assistance to regions grappling with severe living conditions.

The aid shipment includes essential food supplies, flour, and medical materials. Distribution will be managed by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, targeting the most vulnerable families in Sweida Governorate, as well as shelters in the rural areas of Damascus and Daraa, in accordance with established humanitarian response plans.

This initiative underscores the continued commitment of both Qatar and Jordan to supporting the Syrian people, reinforcing humanitarian solidarity in the face of mounting economic and health-related challenges in affected regions.

This move reflects a strong commitment to unifying humanitarian and relief efforts, delivering direct support to affected communities in a way that helps alleviate suffering and meet essential needs. It also contributes to strengthening social stability and enhancing resilience in the face of ongoing hardship.

The convoy’s launch ceremony in Jordan was attended by Mr.  Saleh Al-Marri, General Supervisor of Qatar Charity's office in Jordan and Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli, Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).
