With donor support, Qatar Charity launches wide-ranging development projects in Mauritania

Qatar Charity (QC), with the generous support of benefactors in Qatar, has launched a series of wide-ranging development projects in Mauritania, in collaboration with the Ministry Delegate to the Minister of Interior, Promotion of Decentralization, and Local Development.

These initiatives aim to bolster sustainable local development and align with the Mauritanian government's efforts to empower vulnerable communities and improve their living conditions.

The new projects include the construction of three multi-service centers housing medical clinics and schools, the establishment of 24 mosques, the implementation of 50 economic empowerment initiatives and 30 food security projects, as well as the drilling of three artesian wells.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including H.E. Hamza Ould Amar, Secretary-General of the Ministry Delegate and Mr. Ghanem Mansour Al-Nuaimi, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Qatar in Mauritania, alongside government officials and representatives of civil society organizations.

On this occasion, Secretary-General Hamza Ould Amar emphasized that the projects are the result of fruitful cooperation between Mauritania and Qatar and are in line with the priorities of the President’s national program.

Eng. Omer Abdelaziz Mohamed, Country Director of Qatar Charity’s Mauritania Branch, affirmed that the projects reflect the organization’s commitment to supporting comprehensive development in the country and are consistent with the government’s priorities in improving basic services and strengthening infrastructure.

Mr. Mohamed Salem Al-Filali, Mayor of Toujounine Municipality expressed his gratitude to Qatar Charity for its developmental interventions, noting that his municipality benefited from a clinic, a school, and several economic empowerment projects.

The implemented projects have brought great relief and joy to the beneficiaries. Ms. Fatima Abdullah extended her thanks to the generous donors in Qatar, saying the projects came at a critical time, addressing urgent needs. Another beneficiary, Abdullah Ould Ahmed, shared his happiness with the project that met his needs, pledging to sustain and develop it. He thanked the supporters in Qatar for their contributions.
