In implementation of the directives of the Amir of the State of Qatar, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the State of Qatar has launched a land bridge of humanitarian aid in response to the urgent needs and to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, which will be delivered through the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

This initiative comes in the wake of the signing of the Gaza Ceasefire Agreement during the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit and extends Qatar’s continuous support to the brotherly Palestinian people.

The humanitarian convoy includes 87,754 shelter tents provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Charity, and the Qatar Red Crescent Society, offering safe and dignified shelter for approximately 436,170 individuals from affected families. This effort comes at a critical time, as more than 288,000 families have lost their homes as a result of the Israeli aggression.

The launch of the land bridge was attended by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, CEO of Qatar Charity Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Assistant Secretary-General for Communication and Resource Development at Qatar Red Crescent Society Mohammed Ahmed Al Beshri, and Deputy Director-General for Shared Services at the Qatar Fund for Development Nasser Mohammed Al Marzouqi.

This initiative embodies the State of Qatar’s commitment to standing by the brotherly Palestinian people, strengthening their resilience in the face of humanitarian challenges, and supporting recovery efforts aimed at building a future of greater stability and dignity.

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad stated in press remarks that these aid efforts are part of the first phase of a comprehensive relief campaign, launched in conjunction with the ceasefire agreement. She emphasized that this humanitarian initiative reflects Qatar’s unwavering commitment to standing by the Palestinian people and supporting them under different circumstances.

Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, said that since the onset of the crisis, Qatari charitable organizations have established land and air bridges to deliver aid to Gaza. He announced the launch of a land bridge carrying up to 80,000 tents—enough to shelter a quarter of Gaza’s population, indicating that Qatari aid covers comprehensive relief, including shelter, food, water, and housing.

Al-Kuwari stressed that the Qatari efforts also include food baskets, medical supplies, and hygiene kits, noting that most tent deliveries began two weeks ago and will continue until the next week. He stated that the supplies will be ready at the crossings and will enter Gaza as soon as they open, ensuring they reach the Palestinian people.
