Qatar Charity delivers urgent winter aid to earthquake victims in Afghanistan

11/27/2025

Qatar Charity (QC) has launched an emergency humanitarian intervention to assist families severely affected by the recent earthquake in Khulm district, Samangan Province, northern Afghanistan. The initiative seeks to ease the hardship of affected families and fulfill their urgent needs as winter’s harsh conditions draw near.

The relief aid includes the distribution of winter clothing to displaced families and marginalized groups in the hardest-hit areas. This urgent response comes as many families have lost their homes and possessions, leaving them vulnerable to extreme cold and related health risks.

Qatar Charity emphasized that this intervention reflects its steadfast humanitarian commitment and ongoing efforts to support disaster-stricken communities. It noted that its field teams are currently finalizing logistical arrangements for additional distributions in coordination with local and international partners, ensuring that aid reaches the most affected families promptly.

The organization reaffirmed its dedication to continuing humanitarian and development assistance for the Afghan people, strengthening resilience against natural disasters, and upholding the values of solidarity and generosity that define the State of Qatar and its people.

It is worth noting that, with the support of donors in Qatar, Qatar Charity carried out two relief interventions in past months for families affected by the earthquake in southeastern Afghanistan. These efforts included the distribution of family tents, food baskets, and kitchen kits, helping meet urgent shelter and food needs and enhancing the ability of affected families to withstand difficult conditions.
